Black Castor & Flaxseed Oil Gel Review...Yes or Nah?? Is it worth the hype?

Danggg it's already HUMP DAYYYYY!!!

So as I promised in my last blog post "I Am Not My Hair" that I would review the Eco Styler Black Castor/Flaxseed Oil Gel. I bought this gel about a month ago and I thought maybe since it had flaxseed/black castor oil in it, that maybe it'll make my hair softer and more manageable.

A little bit of back ground on this product:

This product has Vitamin E which is supposed to stimulate hair growth and also

Omega 3 and Fiber which is supposed to help with shine and strength.

I've heard that Eco Styler Gel is a great product to use on edges and the little baby hairs that we have, so that was my first initial reason for buying it. I used it for about two weeks, just pulling my hair back into a bun and putting it around the edges and it did wonders! My hair was very sleek and so shiny!

So I thought, "hmm, if it worked for my bun, then how about a wash and go?!"

Eco styler gel is a tricky one, the product is supposed to make your hair shine, however because of the alcohol in it, it dries it out at the same time (or maybe it was just my hair). I was aware of this, buuuut I wanted to see how it would work because of the nourishing products that are in the ingredients.

In the video below, it shows my regular wash and go routine, substituting my regular product "Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie" with the Eco Styler Gel.

PROS : -CURL DEFINITION. My curls were poppin'

-Faster dry time

-Scent was amazing

CONS: -Shrinkage. This product was not nice with elongating my curls, so I had to

manipulate them by using my blow dryer

-Hair was dry! After my hair dried, it became just that... DRY LOOKING. So this

prevented me from wearing my wash-n-go longer than a day.

-Flakes. Although it was minimal, there were flakes (not the BIGGEST con, but it is one)

So overall, my initial review of this product.... I personally wouldn't use this for a wash and go again. BUT for my buns, I'd definitely use it! This product is excellent for edge control! Everyone's hair is different, so if you'd like to try this product for yourself I would definitely recommend that you do! So, go to your local beauty supply, target, Walmart, or Walgreen's and pick it up!!

-Sincerely Anstacia
